A group of ten convicted of digital abuse directed at Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has ruled against ten people for carrying out the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the partner of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The accused individuals faced charges of disseminating false claims regarding her gender and sexuality, in addition to making malicious remarks about the husband and wife's significant age difference.
The court delivered conditional custodial sentences of a maximum of eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has yet to be released.
A persistent false narrative claiming that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has been in circulation since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons engaging in a defamation lawsuit in the United States against right-wing influencer Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted comparable unfounded claims about the first lady's identity.
Their legal filing states that Owens ignored all credible evidence disproving her claim choosing instead to give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has often echoed these claims on her show and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would risk all her credibility on her insistence that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her future husband when she was a teacher at his lycée.
The two married in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was in her mid-50s.
